Grooming envolves the following areas:

1. Coat- The amount of dog grooming for the coat required depends on the breed. For short- haired dogs, simple brushing is sufficient. As for longer-haired dog breeds like Yorkshire Terriers and Poodles, you need to comb and brush frequently. Combing will remove tangled hairs while brushing will help remove dead hairs. This simple dog grooming exercise that may take only minutes a day (again depending on your dog breed) will give your dog a clean and glossy coat.

2. Eyes, Ears(cleaned) & Teeth(checked but not brushed by us)

3. Nails - Larger outdoor dogs may not need trimming as they wear their nails down naturally. However, puppies and small dogs that spend most of their time indoors need their nails to be trimmed. So make sure you include nail trimming as part of the dog grooming process. When trimming the nails yourself, just cut the tip of the nails and be careful not to cut to into the quick. Most importantly, use special dog nail clippers and not human nail clippers to avoid causing injury and bleeding to your dog.

Good grooming practices are essential for maintaining health and happiness for you and your dog. Dog grooming should be taken seriously as it is actually part of dog health care. The following are several reasons that grooming will prove extremely beneficial for your pet’s health and happiness.

  • Grooming allows us to routinely check for any abnormalities that may signify a problem. Our groomer watch's for problems such as ear infections, parasites, diabetes, and growths. We may be
  • able to discover these problems in the very early stages before they become more serious.
  • Routine brushing of about 5-10 minutes removes dead skin & keeps coats shiny while stimulating the production of natural skin oils.
  • Eliminates or minimizes skin disease
  • Reduces shedding and improves appearance
  • Controls fleas and ticks
  • Toe nail trimming is essential to your pets comfort when walking and health issues that can occur from nails growing into the pads of the feet.
  • Excessive hair around the face can promote eye irritation and infection in dogs and cats
  • Keeping ears clean reduces risk of infections and mites

You can come by any time during business hours for nail clippings for a charge of $15.00.
